Fire Hydrant/Groundskeeper Seasonal Summer Help

This position will be responsible for the necessary upkeep of the District Fire Hydrants and maintaining the interior/exterior grounds of the District. This is a temporary non-benefited position. The schedule will be Monday through Friday working between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:30 pm for a total of 30 to 40 hours a week. The duration of this position is anticipated to be approximately 3 months.
The hourly rate of pay for this position is $21.00 per hour.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Fire Hydrant upkeep duties will include but are not limited to:
- Visually Inspecting
- Cleaning
- Painting
- Groundskeeping duties will include but are not limited to:
- Weeding
- Mowing/Edging
- Trimming Hedges/Trees
- Watering Plants
- Clearing Debris
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age by the start of employment.
- Applicants considered for this job must pass the following:
- Criminal history background investigation.
- Clean driving record.
- Post-offer/pre-employment drug and alcohol screen. Employees in safety-sensitive job classifications are prohibited from all marijuana usage whether medical or recreational.
Physical Activities
- Continuous physical activities include standing and walking.
- Frequent physical activities include stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
- Occasional physical activities include feeling.
Physical Requirements
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Working Conditions
- Subject to outside environmental conditions, no protection from the weather.
- Subject to extreme heat, temps above 100 degrees for more than 1 hour.
- Subject to noise and vibrations.
- Subject to hazards, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, and exposure to chemicals.
- Subject to exposure to oils and other cutting fluids via air and/or skin contact.
